Welcome to my homepage! I am a professor of mathematics and chair of Mathematical Communication Theory at Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. My research interests are in coding theory and combinatorics. My research focuses on the mathematical structure of error-correcting codes and communication networks, and on their applications. Buzzwords for my research include:

• coding theory: error-correcting codes and their properties;
• network information theory: network coding, adversarial networks;
• combinatorics: poset theory, enumerative combinatorics, and their applications;
• optimization for data storage and recovery, including DNA storage;
• quantum error correction;
• code-based (post-quantum) cryptography.

In April 2022 I was appointed on the Complaints Committee for Undesirable Behavior of TU/e. I am an editor for the Journal of Algebra and Its Applications and for Advances in Mathematics of Communications.
